What is an Action Learning Set?

Action Learning Sets are facilitated small groups which address issues or follow up training by meeting regularly and working collectively to agreed objectives.

What happens?

Action Learning Sets are a highly effectively tool a wide range of issues whether to build on learning or to keep a thorny situation ‘live’.  Working with a facilitator to a clear remit, there are huge benefits to those taking part and the impact on an organisation. These include:

  • Feedback and reflection on a situation or plan
  • Problem-solving as a community or team
  • Challenge and encouragement
  • Leadership skills
  • Testing out new ideas in a safe space
  • Putting ideas into an action plan

Who is it for?

Action Learning Sets are for any small groups or teams who wish to meet regularly to address key organisational or team issues usually as a result of training or strategic planning days.
