Alasdair Cant - Director
Alasdair has over twenty years’ experience as a Trainer, Accredited Coach and Facilitator working with teams and individuals to fulfil their potential in education, health, criminal justice, social care, the arts and the private sector.
With a background in education, Alasdair established the training department for the national charity Release and later developed the first Business Unit within a local authority (Westminster) winning two major innovation awards. Since 1997, he has built his own training and coaching practice based in Cambridge, specialising in Motivational Interviewing and Management and Leadership development.
Helen Robbins - General Manager
Helen has been a Director since 2005 and works on all aspects of the business including client liaison, new opportunities, marketing and communication, report writing, editing and logistics. A music graduate with a background in education, she worked for many years as a freelance marketing and project management consultant within the arts including English Touring Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company Arts and is a former Director of the Arts Marketing Association.
In recent years, she has developed an expertise as a singing leader both for community choirs, education, workplace and team-building settings.
Shirley Magilton - Associate Consultant
Shirley is an Associate with extensive knowledge and experience of leading service reviews, needs assessments, pilot evaluations and process analysis. She has worked with a wide range of agencies, both statutory and non-statutory in the fields of criminal justice, mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse. In addition, she was previously an inspector for the Inspectorate of Probation. Shirley works with us on Board Effectiveness Reviews and consultancies bringing rigour and experience, which contribute to clear and effective reports.
Dr Rachel Morris - Associate Trainer and Coach
Rachel qualified as a GP in 2001 and worked as an Assistant Director of GP Studies at the University of Cambridge for 13 years. She set up and led the ‘Doctor as a Professional’ Course for the Medical School before training as an Executive and Team Coach. She has worked in a variety of organisations both within and outside the NHS to deliver coaching and training around resilience including the Live Well, Be Well, Perform Well course.
Vicky Williamson - Associate Trainer
Vicky is a Specialist Leader in Education leading a successful team supporting students with SEND in school (whose work was described as outstanding by Ofsted this term) and works as a freelance trainer with Alasdair Cant & Associates. She is a trained Motivational Practitioner and has delivered many successful programmes in Luton and Bedfordshire with Alasdair Cant & Associates since 2003. She is a gifted, engaging communicator and experienced workshop facilitator.
Neil Parker - Associate (Finance and IT)
Neil is has been with the company since 2010 managing all aspects of company finance and IT. Neil is a freelance professional with extensive experience in events and financial management, programme development, information systems planning and online learning. His clients currently include the London Arts and Health Forum and Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination. Neil previously worked for many years at the Arts Marketing Association and Momentum Arts.
